Wood engraving
14 June – 5 October

Edvard Munch is undoubtedly one of the world’s leading graphic artists. The exhibition ”Edvard Munch – Expressionism” is a presentation of a unique and personal collection of Munch’s wood engravings. This is the first time the collection is on display in its entirety, and features several central themes in Munch’s body of work, such as Angst, Melancholy, Forest bound and Moonlight. Munch has had a tremendous influence on German artists, particularly in the first decade of the 20th century. The exhibition shows Munch’s influence on other artists by displaying artwork by the German expressionists Pechstein, Kirchner, Heckel and Nolde.
